I’ve been doing marketing for over 30 years, SEO and WordPress for about 20, and AI work for the last three. If you came here for a guru who’s never made a mistake, I’m not your guy. If you want someone who’s been doing this long enough to know what actually works, you’re in the right place.
The short version of the long story
I learned most of this by trial and error, and the error part was spectacular. I built my first portfolio of ad-supported sites back when that was the sensible thing to do, then watched Penguin take most of them down. I rebuilt, ran a local SEO agency for five years, and have run a portfolio of niche sites ever since. The latest round, informational sites, took a beating from the helpful content update, while a few of them quietly earned job-replacement income along the way.
I’ve been hit by the updates you’re reading about right now. That’s not a boast, it’s the point. I know what these things look like from the inside, and I know what it takes to come back.
Why this site exists
This site is where I write down what I’ve learned so you don’t have to spend twenty years learning it. Local SEO, WordPress, and using AI without setting your rankings on fire. It’s a work in progress on purpose, because the industry keeps changing while I’m trying to explain it.
The ground rules
No hype, no weird tricks, no listicles that don’t say anything. If something stopped working, I’ll tell you it stopped working and what replaced it. Everything here is tested on real sites, usually my own.
Proof of results
Coming. I’m old school enough to believe receipts belong out in the open, so expect case studies and numbers to land on this page over time. Until then, the writing will have to stand on its own.
